Rotoscoping is an old-school process used to create animation from live action footage. The technique involves drawing over the live-action footage with a series of still images, which are then placed onto a background track of movement to form a finished animated scene. Check out some of the amazing films made using this process, including The Spine of Night, Mary Poppins, an animated Lord of the Rings, and many, many others, including a slew of Disney movies.

In the 80s, a shift in the state of animated television occurred. The United States began to deregulate the advertising industry, which had previously been barred from advertising directly to children. With these new laws, companies began catering to their newest (and biggest) demographic: kids. If you're an 80's kid, welcome to the nostalgia highway.

You'd think that very logically, the groove and the freaky style of the '70s would've translated to the cartoons of the decade, too. However, upon further inspection, you might find that isn't exactly the case, as '70s cartoons are, well, basically timeless! Yes, the groove is there, but it is rather inconspicuous, never outshining the real joy and classical values of animated series. Wanna check if it is the truth?
